Shipping to APO/FPO addresses
There may be a 1-2 business day delay in shipping by USPS method since we have to physically drop off the packages at a Postal Office.
The delivery time by USPS to APO/FPO addresses varies and is out of our control. Sometimes it takes a very long time. We occasionally, although rarely, experience a package lost by USPS.
All USPS packages are shipped with return signature required to confirm the delivery.
Please use AE or AP as the state for APO and FPO addresses.
We currently do not provide online tracking with order numbers for USPS shipping method as we do with UPS methods.
USPS is reminding Americans that certain conditions and restrictions apply when sending mail to our troops and civilian personnel deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The Department of Defense (DoD) cancelled programs that let citizens send mail addressed to "Any Service Member" more than a year ago. The program was popular with the public during Desert Storm and other U.S. military operations, but DoD's concerns about security and transportation during the Iraq campaign led to canceling the program.
The DoD recommends visiting www.defendamerica.mil and clicking the "Support Our Troops" icon as a means for the public to find ways to support our troops.
The DoD has requested that those who send mail use the Service Member's full name, unit and APO/FPO (Air/Army Post Office or Fleet Post Office) address with the nine-digit ZIP Code and a return address.
Mailing restrictions are updated every other Thursday at www.usps.com. Go to "About USPS and News," "Forms and Publications" and "Postal Bulletin." Customers may also get this information by calling 1-800-ASK-USPS, or by visiting their local Post Office.
Military Addressing tips from USPS
The Department of Defense has issued the following guidelines for addressing your mail to military and civilian personnel deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Use the service member’s full name. The Department of Defense cancelled the Any Service Member program so mail must be addressed to someone specific.
Include the unit and APO/FPO (Air/Army Post Office or Fleet Post Office) address with the nine-digit ZIP Code™ (if one is assigned).
